I've been preparing for GMAT FE using TTP and am done covering the Verbal topics. I have been practicing RC questions from OG 2022. I seem to do okay with the Easy and Medium level questions, but I struggle with completing them on time when it comes to the Hard questions. My biggest challenge appears to be with the science passages especially (such as those about quantum physics, asteroids). My mind blanks out no matter how hard I try to engage in active reading. I can't seem to make sense of the words without reading going back and fourth between the questions and the passage. Any tips on how I can get better at RC? How much time should I spend reading the passage and how much time should I dedicate for the questions? Are there any strategies that helped you when you reached this point where the words on the screen seem like gibberish?

I suggest 2 things:
  1. RC Strategy. This means following what's outlined in book such as MGMAT or Powerscore or Kaplan and following their simple yet effective strategy a
  2. Reading books to improve ability to digest dense written text fast.

It sounds like you're putting in a lot of effort with your GMAT FE preparation! For improving your reading comprehension, especially with challenging science passages, consider these tips:

1. Skim for Structure: Before diving deep, quickly skim the passage to understand its structure and main ideas. Look for topic sentences and key terms that can guide your understanding.

2. Active Reading Techniques: Try summarizing each paragraph in your own words as you read. This can help reinforce your understanding and keep you engaged.

3. Practice with Variety: Incorporate a mix of passage types in your practice to build familiarity. The more you expose yourself to different topics, the easier it will become to tackle them.

4. Time Management: Aim to spend about 1-2 minutes reading the passage and then allocate around 1-1.5 minutes per question. Adjust as needed based on the complexity of the passage.

5. Focus on Key Details: For hard questions, identify keywords in the question that relate back to the passage. This can help you locate relevant information more efficiently.

6. Stay Calm: If you find yourself blanking out, take a deep breath and refocus. Sometimes a brief pause can help clear your mind.

Keep practicing, and don't hesitate to revisit challenging passages to build your confidence. You've got this!

Thank you but ChatGPT really sucks when it comes to the GMAT unfortuantely.
it is not possible to read the passage in 1-2 minutes while summarizing the paragraph in you rown words. You really have ot tell OpenAI it sucks when it comes to numbers.
