Hi All,
Many of you may remember me being active on this forum last year. I got my 700 on the GMAT then - my debreefing is here:

I am planning on retaking the test now, and try and up my score to 740+. Many people reading this will think that it is stupid and unnecessary, but there are reasons for this.. The main reasons:
1) Colleges I am appying to all have average GMAT over 710 - I want to stay above average at minimum
2) My other parts of the application are average or below, and I am in the dreaded zone of applicants (Montauk, anyone?) - Engineers from India
3) I have 3 years of Work Experience, which is below the average for most colleges I am appying to (their average is 5 years). This makes is even more necessary to have the other parts of my application stronger to make a valid candidature.
Anyways, people who have been in my boat before - any suggestions on how I should study and pursue a higher score?

Well, you have a solid reason for wanting to retake the test.
You made it to 50 Quant, which is really awesome.
The only barrier keeping you away from 750+ is your verbal [35]. If you deovote a full month of verbal practice and making sure you master SC, I bet you can easily reach the mid to upper 7xx.
All you need probably is to get your verba to around 42, assuming you keep your math score within the same range.

Thanks for the suggestions, Mishari. I will work on verbal and give some mock tests to see if I can consistently hit around 42... I think quant should not be a problem if I practice a little before the test.
