Hi everyone! Long time lurker finally posting because I have a couple things I'm trying to figure out, and this community always has good takes.
Regarding GMAT:
I'm sitting at 670 right now and targeting 720+. My quant is okay, but verbal is killing me, specifically sentence correction. I've gone through the OG but feel like I'm pattern matching without actually understanding the underlying rules. Has anyone found a resource that actually explains the grammar logic rather than just drilling questions?
Regarding Consultant:
I'm starting to think about whether to hire an admissions consultant for my MBA apps. I'm an international applicant, so I feel like I need someone who understands how the admission committee reads non-US profiles. Has anyone worked with a consultant specifically as an international student? Was it worth it? And how do you even evaluate whether someone is good before you've paid them?
In the meantime, I've been using a platform called Admit IQ while I figure out the consultant question. The AI interviewer (Dr. Morgan) runs full mock admissions sessions in audio mode, which has been useful for practicing without bothering people in my network. The research tool is the one that surprised me, though, it pulls program-specific data like average post-MBA salary, ROI, employment outcomes, that kind of thing, all in one place instead of hunting across five different sites. Free right now and using as a beta user at getadmitiq dot com.
Appreciate any advice on either front!
