Hey guys,
I'm relatively new here but I've been posting a bit in the Math forum recently. I am signed up to take the GMAT on 7/13/07 and am in the preliminary stages of preparation.
I remember reading one person posting that a big mistake a lot of people make when preparing for the GMAT is that they focus on only the ridiculously hard questions (like some of the questions that are posted in the Math forum), but end up screwing up on medium level difficulty questions, which prevents them from even getting to the difficult questions on the GMAT.
I feel like that's the trap that I may be falling into now. I've been spending a lot of time on the Math forums browsing for some hard problems to practice, that I've sort of been neglecting the medium to medium-hard questions.
For those of you that have taken the GMAT and scored well, what do you think is the best approach? Is it really possible to score 750+ and not know all the really tough questions, but just have the medium to medium-hard questions down pat? I've seen people come out and post that they scored a 760 and were surprised at this because they guessed completely on one or two questions, so I'm tempted to think that this is true.
One more question: A lot of people report seeing a lot of Inequality and Number Property DS questions on the actual GMAT. Is it only a couple people who have experienced this, or is it really worth it to spend some extra time practicing those types of problems?
Sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance for any responses.
