Verbal is definitely my strong point, but I'm really stressing over the math. I can figure most of them out but am taking 4 - 5 minutes per problem. I only got 18 correct on the GMATPrep, but still a score of 700, which would be fine with me. What I'm wondering is if the actual test score is weighted toward the verbal. In other words, maybe I don't need to stress so much about the math? For those who have taken the actual test, how did your GMAT Prep scores compare with your test scores?
gmatprep is the best indicator of your skill level. that being said, it is just one CAT... and even the actual GMAT has a standard error of 41 points. so there is a chance that even after you write the gmat, it is +/- 40 points from your "true" ability.
regardless, a 700 is a great place to be starting your prep. you are starting where many people want to end up! take more CATs though to get a feel for what your range of scores are; sometimes your scores may vary widely (ive gotten from 33 to 47 in Q.)
the test is not weighted more for math vs. verbal, so spend some time focusing on math and you should have no problem breaking past 40+ in Q. you have a shot at 99th percentile, so put in the hours in Q and go for it!
