Disclaimer : These are just my midnight ramblings. Dont waste your time. I write gibberish anyway.
After watching a Friday 11pm BOURNE ULTIMATUM show from the second row in the theater, I decided to kick start my OG prep. Very Wise!!! I must admit. I started with the Green book(Quant Review) and solved the first 80 problems in about an hour.
Cakewalk!!!
Well... Only until I checked my answers. 8/80 were wrong. It was morale shattering. Math wasn't even supposed to be difficult. Definitely not PS and most definitely not the first 80 questions in OG. I felt silly and stupid. The mistakes could be typified by the following two examples
1*1 = 2
2*2 = 2
I figured 2 is not my lucky number... at least not today!!!
Saturday...
I wasn't brave enough to work on quants again after the previous day's debacle, so I decided to do what was supposed to be the easiest of all books available. PR Verbal section.
verbal bin - 1 => 23/25 correct. Not a bad start. I consoled myself.
Verbal bin - 2 => more than 50% of my CRs wrong. Others were OK.
That just did it. If I cant get 50% right after 2 weeks of preparation, I am just not ready yet. Oct 2007 GMAT is just not happening!!!
For almost 1.5 days, I did nothing but to slack off at the gym, watch baseball, cook, call friends and folks back home and browse around with no real sense of direction.
A few minutes back...
For lack of better things to do, I decided to do the next 60 PS questions in the same Green book(81-140). 95 minutes. Ooof!!! There were atleast two questions for which I answered wrong first but immediately corrected it after re-reading the question again.
Checked my answers:
All 60 correct.
I am confused now. Am I ready or not? Is it too early to call either way?
I am going to give myself one more week before I dare to think of postponing my October plans!!!
Until then I'll continue to spam this forum with no mercy
