My target is 700. The best I've done on a Power Prep practice test was 740. My best GMAT Prep was 710. I'm pretty strong on verbal, but weak on quant. That's been the focus of my study this summer. But for tonight, I'm practicing essays. I'm afraid that studying math tonight might be counterproductive. If I don't know it now, I'm probably not going to learn it in the next few hours!

I'd wish you luck, but you don't luck when you have skill.

And I haven't slept well for the past several nights. I'm dreaming data sufficiency!

Robin...

I never typed up my debrief... but i did not sleep the night before. For about a week before I got about 5 hours per night.

I took 3 *perscription* sleeping pills throughout the entire night before the GMAT... *and* a dose of nyquil. i did not sleep for more than 3 or 4 hours in 1 hour blocks. when i got to the testing center, i might as well have been stoned. if i had been pulled over while driving to PVue, a cop would have thought I was drunk or on drugs.

lord knows what kind of babble i wrote on the essays.

i'm not trying to scare you... my point is some Q problems i didn't even have to calculate, i just reasoned in my head. even though i was practically high and was in another dimension, my mind just knew what to do because of all the prep. i am naturally an anxious person. but once i started the test.. i was just.. "ON" for lack of a better term. i scored a 48Q and I did not even see a combinatorics problem. Hell, the only probabilty I saw was a DS question that anyone who has visited this board for a month would know how to do (i.e. one statement allowed you to construct a complementary event, and therefore answer the question stem, the other statement was trick/useless info) the same will happen to you!

could i have done better if i had slept more? yeah, absolutely... i probably should have gotten a 730... BUT no matter if i rescheduled or not, i would always be anxious the night before and not fall asleep.

so RELAX. stop studying. YOU WILL DO FINE.

I'm beginning to wonder what I'll do with my evenings once this test is over - it's pretty much been my life after work this summer.

Heh heh heh (evil laughter)... oh don't worry, you'll have SOMETHING to do after the GMAT is over... the thing that's been on the rest of our minds for the past few weeks since our GMAT... it's horrible... it's HORRIBLE!!! ARRRRGGGGHHHH ;)

Anyway, sorry for the crazy part above, I'm losing my mind stressing over essays. But I think you'll do good based on your last PP and GMATPrep scores. those were MY scores exactly before my GMAT, which means you'll get a 760!

Just remember, relax, get a lot of sleep, take the full break, splash water on your face, stretch, and RELAX (repeated for emphasis)!

You'll do great, and I look forward to reading the good news! (and you joining our ranks in "B-School Application":

I know what you mean about just being "ON". That's how I felt, too. Really didn't feel any different than a practice test. I did freeze up on a couple math problems that should have been easy. I hated to guess on something I knew that I should know. But better to guess and move on than spend 10 minutes trying to figure out if x>y. I was relieved that I remembered so many of the tips and techniques. I was actually a little disappointed to not get any questions in areas I felt prepared for. Who knows whether it will ever come in handy to know the ratio of sides of a 30:60:90 triangle?

WOW. I can't believe you didn't get a problem that worked in ratio's of a triangle's sides in some capacity. that is crazy!
