I have a hard time coming with a good strategy for DS problems, especially number theory questions ex is X > 0 etc etc.
I know the strategies to use -2, -1 , -1/2 , 0 , 1/2 , 1 , 2
however when you have to compare 2 or more variables, even if you can narrow down that list to all positives, still have a lot of combinations to deal with.
I am not good at manipulating all these numbers in my head under time constraints, so I guess I need a good paper strategy to use? I am aware of paper strategies but sometimes they seem too daunting where I would have 4 columns of variables I'd have to check for let's say 4 types of numbers.
How do the pros solve these problems efficiently?
