I have an odd problem with the GMAT (actually test-prep software and tests): I got about the same percentage of easy, medium, and difficult questions incorrect. Not exactly the same, but close enough to worry me.
My question: with the adaptive test is this likely to be murder on my score? With certain practice tests, I loose a lot by getting one of the early and easy questions incorrect.
Also, does anyone know where I can find the article (or post) on the scoring algorithim? I thought it basically debunked the idea that say, The PR adaptive test was similar (in its engine) to the actual test.

The scoring algorithms are virtually impossible to understand! Suffice it to say that the Powerprep and PR tests are truly adaptive, so they will give you a good feel for your progression during the test. (I don't know if Kaplan's are.) I wouldn't try to figure out the scoring algorithm - focus on your test-taking skills and do as many practice questions as you can. The fact that you get the same number of easy, medium and hard questions wrong really doesn't matter - figure out why you're getting the specific question type wrong and go from there. Maintain an error log, as is often recommended in these forums.
