Hi guyz, I just gave the Kaplan's online test and sharing few key takeaways for people who couldn't join in...
The open tests are accompanied by a brief presentation by Kaplan instructors. They have done some interesting studies..
# of hrs you study to get the score
700+ 114hrs
600-690 104hrs
550-590 100hrs
(I was thinking if there is any way I can study only those extra 10hrs

)
An additional score of 10 in GMAT is apparently valued between $1000 to $5000. Which is believable as how skewed your chances of applying to the school of your choice depends on the GMAT score.
The test was on the easier side (though I botched up on so many questions). The quant specially was a washout if compared to the tests available here. Maybe their whole package has harder tests...
One interesting thing in the end result was that they show how many people got any particular question right (and the total who attempted that question). Nice statistic to look at and gives you some idea which question are tough-nuts to crack for most.
