I have reviewed my prior CATs in both MGMAT and GMATprep. I may be getting x% incorrect and that translates into a y as my GMAT score.
I know that there are several experimental questions and do not get counted. I am worried that if x% of the questions are experimental, then my score of y from CATs is significantly over-estimated and not by only 30-50 points.
What am I missing?

The cat score is not necessarily based on %incorrect.
You can get 20% incorrect on different exams and end up with different scores
You are trying to work in a "range"

Hello tusharvk,
You have no way of knowing what is or what is not an experimental question. That, and there is not "strike rate" or "% correct" needed to get a score. The GMAT is scored by two attributes:
The difficulty of the problem
How consistent the test taker is in correctly answering said difficulty.
My score was +/- 30 points from GMATPrep and MGMAT.
As long as you can control things like test day stress, anxiety during the test, etc. you should score within a narrow window of your practice test scores.
