Took my first GMATPrep last Sunday before I decided to study, 490 35Q 24V.
Background: High school slacker: sub 1.0 GPA, Undergrad GPA: 3.6
Realistic goal: Around 650, low 40Q, high 30V.
I looked at the problems I got wrong. For Quant, 50% Data Sufficiency and a crapload of random ones. For Verbal, about 12/16 I got wrong were SC problems. Whenever I look at those questions, they all look at the same to me.
Here is my plan, definitely open for recommendations. I am in a time crunch right now.
Verbal: Memorize
MGMAT SC book! I never learned these rules in HS, so it is all brand new to me. Does anyone have any other recommendations for SC? Should I keep re reading and memorizing the concepts, or will practicing them nonstop allow me to develop an "instinct" for spotting errors? Right now it looks like I have no idae how to approach these problems! I also purchased OG 12 + OG Verbal. My verbal study is going to be 75% focused on SC, which I think is probably my best gameplan to get my desired score. I am also going to put some effort into the Powerscore CR book.
Quant: No idea, I am just planning on doing OG Quant book, and OG 12 book. I also purchased
MGMAT number properties book. If someone has recommendations please help, I have trouble on DS problems and don't know any math basics. Where and how do I start?
Really need advice on my study gameplan. I have a lot riding on this, as deadlines are March 1st!
Thanks,
Dawgie
