I have recently just graduated from USC (University of South Carolina) with a concentration in Economics and a minor in Business Administration. I am now pursuing to take the GMAT and need some tips and pointers. I just joined this great club/forum and have been reading quite a bit on various aspects of the GMAT test, including study preparations. My dilemma is whether to study/prepare on my own (3-4months plan) devising a plan similar to what bb posted as well as others or go with a prep program offered at USC.
Studying/prepare myself:
Pros: save $$$, flexible timing
Cons: Potential to procrastinate, no peer to peer aid
USC program:
Pros: Peer to peer aid, set course plan, materials offered
Cons: Set times, set plan, expensive though relatively cheaper compared to other programs (Kaplan for ex),
not aware of the materials they will be using (I will ask prior to registration if available), hesitant about the effectiveness of the program given its total time frame (24 hrs of total prep time)

I feel that the prep course is almost like a crash course comparing it to some of the study plans I've seen here.
I would like to study/prepare on my own AND do the prep course as well (study myself then take the program or vice versa). However, would that be a smart and an efficient decision? Should I just stick with one method of approach?
