1.5 Weeks to GMAT - Advice Appreciated!

Hi Everyone!

I'm a noob here so I apologize if I ask any stupid questions. I started prepping for the GMAT this weekend and took 2 practice tests. I took the McGraw Hill one but found out that apparently they aren't that great.

I took the GMATPrep practice test from the GMAT website and received 720, Quantitative 50, Verbal 38. According to the score card, Quant - 37 Questions, 10 Incorrect. Verbal - 41 Questions, 8 Incorrect. 
Is this score indicative of what I will receive on the real test? (and also, how did I receive 720 when I answered 18 questions incorrectly!? I thought I'd do much worse)

I have some trouble with Data Sufficiency questions in the Quant part, but my main weakness is in the verbal. I never really learned grammar rules and have problems with reading in general. Do you guys have any advice on what I should do over the next 1.5 weeks to improve? I bought the OG 12 guide, in addition to Princeton Review's Cracking the GMAT. Anything else I should be doing?

You have limited time.

Do MGMAT SC for verbal ( if you are weak in SC)+ OG12 ( atleast 2 times)
Powerscore CR - only if you are weak in CR

Give gmatprep multiple times and if you get time you can try 1-2 mgmat cat's which will come free with MGMAT SC

Do not touch unofficial content for practice, instead do multiple revisions of OG12. If you have spare time you can try OG quant 2 and OG verbal 2.

You have a good score and if it's good enough for you, take the test as soon as possible IMO.

Thanks for your help! By the way, do you happen to know why getting 18 questions wrong still resulted in a 720? I remember when I was taking the SATs that if get even a few questions wrong, your score falls significantly.

If you have intersperse incorrect answers, then probability of getting good score is greater than if you had scored consecutive questions wrong.

Your score depends not just on how many questions were correct but also on what was the level of those questions was... e.g. perhaps the ones you got incorrect were above 700, may be 730 - 750 types, and hence u got 720.. Dont try to analyze the scoring algorithm coz it will just be a waste of time.. Focus on concepts and take each question as it comes...

Thanks for the replies. At this point, I got the Kaplan 800 and the OG12 from the library and plan to go through those. I'd like to do Manhattan ones too but they're a little too expensive for me. 1 week left!
