Sometimes, you need to buckle down and study. There is no way around this as the GMAT is a timed environment w/few exceptions (two 8 min breaks).

Remove yourself from the familiar distractions.

If you can't focus studying for more than 2 hours, how will you manage a 4 hour test?

Thanks for the advice!

And yeah... I'm working on increasing my study time daily. I'm okay sometimes when taking practice tests, but sometimes I lose concentration. It depends on the day... but hopefully by the time I take the GMAT again, I'll be able to consistently focus for 4 hours!

I had the same problem, when I started with GMAT after being out of school for 10 yrs. I would recommend going to library or borders where you get inspired by others.
Also try to work out problems in a bunch(not less than 30) within an hr or so and then you can a small break and start again.

Okay here's my problem.

I would really LOVE to put in around 4 hours of study time each day, but I find that after about an hour of serious concentration, I start to lose concentration and I can't really focus anymore - and honestly, I don't see the point in reviewing material and going through practice questions when I'm not focused because I won't be able to take away much from it regardless.

Does anyone have any tips on how they were able to study and concentrate for long periods of time? Any advice would be appreciated. Also, feel free to sugget any kind of food or other alternatives that might work as well.

Thank you!!!

I also find studying AWAY from home is the best... on the weekends I go into the office and study in a boardroom.

Yes, I can definitely concentrate better at work and the library.

Thank you both for the advice :-)
