Hi
I have a few questions based on my GMAT practice exams, I have given following prep exams:
1)
MGMAT exam - 600 (first exam before starting my preparations -3months back)
2) MGAT exam - 580 (after 1 month of preparations)
3) MGAT exam - 600 (after 1.5 months of prep)
4) GMAT PREP - 650 (after 2.5 months of prep)
5) KAPLAN GMAT - 580 (after 3 months of prep)
I have read a lot on this forum that KAPLAN scores are around 50-100 points lower than what the real GMAT score would be, is it still true ?? I think I read somewhere (not sure if it was this forum or somewhere else) that recently Kaplan has changed their score algorithm and now their reported score is not that lower, does anyone know if this is true ?
(I have the KAPLAN 2011 GMAT Premier and took one of their online exams that comes with it).
Also, I am taking the GMAT on 17th Aug so only have 2 weeks left, I am aiming for a 700+ score but am not very sure at this point what my real score would be. I am not sure what else to do now to move my score up.
Preparation wise, One of my big problem in Quant is speed, more often than not I find myself at Question 28-30 with only 10 mins remaining. I am trying to work on that (may be start guessing in the middle of exam, or start guessing every other question if I am behind on time etc ... ) but doesn't seem to be helping much, I am not able to figure out at what point should I start guessing, like sometimes after 2 min or so into a prob I realize that I still dont have an answer but I feel that a few more seconds would be enuf but before I know I end up wasting 4 mins on a problem.
Any1 has any suggestions or recommendations ?
Also would getting the GMAT Club questions help me with speed ? I have heard somewhere that the Quant Questions are really hard and the real GMAT is not that hard (difficulty level wise) would any1 like to comment on that ??
I dont mind spending the money on these exams but considering that I only have 2 weeks left and I have 3
MGMAT, 3 KAPLAN and 1 GMAT PREP exam that I can take, adding new material would help.
Please provide any and all ideas or suggestions you guys might have.
