Wow, quite a split between the two scores. How far apart did you take them? Yes report the 670.

Edit: I truly should have started this message off with "thanks a lot" for the help by the way. I was one heartbeat away from going Office Space on that screen after I clicked "Do not cancel scores".

akaydee: In my case I know that not to be true as Kellogg and Sloan specifically mentioned that low quant was a huge barrier to entry. I know Wharton and INSEAD also specifically mention "we prefer candidates with 80%/80%".

perseverance: That makes sense and is what I'm leaning toward. I'm considering using an optional essay to mention the "dilemma", especially to schools I've applied to in the past which have my old, unbalanced score.

bb: No kidding. The first thought that raced through my head was "but sirs, there must be some mistake!" The 670 was taken about a year and a half after the 680, so it ended up almost being a complete restudy when I sat down.

If I were to retake, does anyone know how it works if I don't directly report it to a school?

Ex. I have my 670, which I'll upload into the school's online application (I never report them directly to the school, had a few issues with scores "not arriving" or being lost in the past).

If I score better, obviously I'd let them know, but if I do worse, is it likely they'd find out about the score if I don't notify?
