I don't know for how long you have prepared for this exam, but whatever the situation the GMAT prep exams are essential. It's the best way to see the types of questions you are likely to get on the real exam.

MGMAT exams are definitely worth it. BTW, you get access to the 6 tests by buying a single guide ( on Amazon these cost about $17-18 plus shipping). ETS paper tests are good, but they are nowhere near as difficult as the real thing.

If you're absolutely determined to study this way, then just be conscious of the dangers involved, such as burnout and inadequate preparation. Others have already cautioned you about this, so let's focus on your general plan.

Stick with two guidebooks: Manhattan Number Properties and Manhattan SC guide. You can finish these two books in time, and they will provide free access to six MGMAT tests. Skip the end-of-chapter questions in the books. Also, make sure to take the two GMATPrep tests. You can reinstall this program for an additional two tests, although the chances of repeat questions and score inflation increase. For AWA practice, read this guide and type the essays during your CAT sessions.

At any rate, this equals ten high-quality CAT's. That should be enough. Make sure to study, review, and learn from the questions that you answer incorrectly.

Good luck!

I am sorry guyz that i didnt inform you enough.

Starting with kaplan live 2010 book, kaplan verbal and quant,i have been studying, for almost 6 month, with official guide 10th edition,OG 11 th and OG 12. After all i bought official verbal review and quant review. After that intens period i tried myself on kaplan cat exams which made me down because i got 640 average. It pissed me off, therefore, right after chilling i started again i resolved all questions in OG12,OG verbal review and quant review i have just finished them so i am considering to take cat exams.

My aim is 700+. So please help me about which cat exams should i get.

I already did kaplan's cat exams.

What you think about MGMat cat exams ? Should i buy 6 of them and with 2 prep?

8 exams in 13day looks good to me. What you think masters?

Ah, this is a much different scenario!

The MGMAT tests are the second best CAT's available, but the quant sections are more difficult than the GMAT quant section. The best resource, of course, is the GMATPrep.

It might be too late now, but the GMATClub Tests are quite helpful for 700-plus scores. If you choose this, however, then you might have to postpone your test by a week in order to finish all 25 math tests. The entire collection costs $79. If we add that to the rescheduling fee, this option might be too expensive.

I was thinking about gmatclub test but i have to say that it is expensive for me. If i postpone it will be charged to me extra 50 dollars:(

So i will buy mgmat wish me luck,

I hope everything will be great for me,

Do you have any other advise about exam day or one day before it?

If I were you I would have given 3 attempts each of gmatprep. So total 6 CAT's for 14 days.
I would have revised theory + OG's again + questions posted on GmatClub for rest of the days.

6+6 in 14 days is not advisable. You wont gain much out of many CAT's in few days. Instead focus on revising weak area and nourishing your strengths & confidence.

Still if want to buy 6 CATs, buy any mgmat book. All the books comes with the access of 6 Cat's + online question bank.

Mgmat book costs around 26$ and the Cat's alone cost 30+ $. That's there way to encourage user to buy books instead of tests. Fair Enough.

Well I am also sailing in the same boat...Couple of weeks away from the D-Day. I have already given 3 MGMAT tests - three more to go. I have a question for the experts here - I am planning to give 4 full length tests ( 2 MGMATs and 2 PREPs ) Would that be sufficient before I go for the real EXAM or should I write one or two more?

After you all warned me, i decided to get few exams.

I will took gmat prep 3 time each and download free mgmat cat.

I am kinda suprised that noone agree with me to take 10 cat exams,i was thinking it is really so important before the exam apparently it is not.

PS: i am in turkey and there is no store that I can get any mgmat book. If i order from ebay it would reach me in 2 weeks which is so late..:(

Assuming that you studied appropriately with guidebooks and practice problems, then the six MGMAT and two GMATPrep tests should be enough.

The CAT's are important. In fact, they're absolutely essential! However, the law of diminishing returns applies here. After awhile, CAT practice ceases to provide much benefit. And done to excess, it can even bring harm.

But if you still feel fresh and strong, it wouldn't hurt to do some MGMAT tests too. Just be careful and make sure to take a break on the day before the test.

You are welcome to give even 20 Cat's but only when you have a year to prepare. You have time constraint and that is the only reason why everyone has advised you to concentrate more on concepts and revision.

These are way too many exams. And doing GMAT Prep continuously like that undermines it's importance in that it has real GMAT-type questions. Don't take it more than 3 times and don't do it sequentially. I'd say that 5 practice tests would be ideal and give you enough time to focus on your mistakes. Just my $0.02
