Hi folks,
I am an engineer (Electrical Power - non IT) with 8 years of experience in Utility sector.
I want to go for my MBA and would like to go for Haas. It is very expensive.
There are slightly less expensive options available which are also very good schools like Santa Clara University and USF.
I am not planning to switch careers and just kind of complete my MBA nice and slow, which can help me advance in my career. I even figured that being an engineer salary is not too bad and MBA overall may not make a huge difference.
I took GMAT once and scored 570, planning to take again but i don;t have time to study too hard. Hopefully I can improve my score a little bit. I definately need 650+ or even 700 to get to Haas.
Too much effort and later too much money........Is it even worth it for me?

I think either way, school rank matters to some degree, as long as it's a reputable program overall.
Considering that you're an engineer and in a school that attracts a good amount of engineers, you're right about needing a score near 700. The median is at 700 there (I guess Haas is the only school had a median at 700 for the PT program).

I think you'll need to take it again but you also gotta study hard in the GMAT to get into UC Berkeley. I'm still busting my butt for one more run to improve my score a bit to get a better shot at my target schools while writing essays at the same time. Good luck.
