Just trying to get some general advice/comments on my situation. I applied for and got accepted to the Booth full-time program to start in Sep 2012 and right after I applied I got a offer to go to Japan for 2 years to set up a group there. I declined the Booth offer telling them the reason. They seemed pretty nice about it at the time. I have since been in Japan for 3 years (extended my contract a year) and went to a couple Booth events in Japan just to show my face and let them know I still wanted to attend when I came back to the US. That time has now arrived and I will apply to the part-time program starting either in the summer or fall.
I have heard via this forum that schools generally dont respond well to declining their offers but wondering if the same applies to the part-time programs. Any insights would be appreciated.

Did you end up applying and getting in or are you looking to still apply now? The reaction really depends on the school and the situation. Many applicants decide to defer which works nicely. For those who don't, I've heard both good and bad experiences wrt applying again.
