Has anyone been in the situation where your company merged or was acquired? How did you represent this on your application? resume?
I was at a company for 9 months before it was bought out by another company. I am on the same project doing the same work working with the same people. Just a few more layers of management and different executives running the company now.
All apps ask about your current employer, and usually past 2 previous employers. So I have listed
1. my current employer
2. Company that was acquired
3. Job I held before company 2.
rather than treating 1 and 2 as one entry. For each of these (1,2,3) I mention my title and salary.
Some hurdles I have ran into are schools that ask major accomplishments at each company. Since I listed 1 and 2, even though it's the same job I do not have clear distinction being accomplishments at one company versus the other.
Also on my resume I lumped all my accomplishments into my current employer with a line under it explaining the merger.
