However you use it, you need to demonstrate how that experience has affected you. Does it make you look at things in a different way to other people? Have you been able to use your understanding of different cultures to prevent issues / solve problems / enhance projects?

You should also work out how it fits into the bigger 'message' you're trying to send in your application. Is your multi-cultural experience one of your key themes, or is it just background material? Do you have other similar experiences that connect together?

In my application 'experience' I've been able to meet some admissions directors and I've read pretty much every interview with the people at my target schools. What I gathered from all this is that the thing that seems to make an application go from 'ticking all the boxes' to 'admit' is whather or not the candidate has managed to tie all of their experiences into a coherent story that's obvious throughout the application.

I had some pretty diverse experiences to tie together as well so I know it's really challenging to get it right. If you haven't already looked at a few books, I found MBA Admissions Strategy: From Profile Building to Essay Writing by Avi Gordon pretty helpful when I had to craft my story.
