Hello All,
Long time lurker, first-time poster. I was wondering what happens after an applicant is offered admission and decides to accept. I know that official transcripts have to be submitted and that there are admit weekends but what about other things? Also, how do the financial aid apps work?
I would like to leave my job and travel for awhile before school starts in Sept. I am still waiting upon acceptances however either way I would like to start travelling as soon as possible.
Is this advisable or should I wait 2 months to get my paperwork in order?
I'm from Canada so I'd need a visa. Also, it's very cold now here so I'd like to leave sooner than later.

Pretty much any school that you get accepted and decides to enroll in will have some sort of a "checklist" for you. That could include official GMAT score, your official transcrips from college, background check, a picture of yourself, etc. I'd check with the school that you're enrolling with to see what's required of you, but there's really not much but following some information they give you. In terms of financial aid, I know students based in the states will file for FAFSA and transmit the FAFSA over to the specific school if the students opt for federal loans. But even that, it's following information, such as filing taxes --> filing FAFSA --> filing school's own financial aid if any. Again, this is something that you can most definitely call and ask about directly.
