I quit my job in May to travel abroad, and spend some time with family and friends. Looking back, I think it was a great decision. After you start your MBA, you will not have much time. Winter break, you will be preparing for interviews and interviewing. Many people also do academic trips during Spring Break. Your summer, you will be interning somewhere. After you graduate, it's back to corporate America. All work and no play makes the mind dull!

I plan on spending most of the next 5 months:

(1) playing as much golf as possible
(2) doing some self-study MBA pre-coursework as it has been 15 years since I did any of that sort of stuff.
