Hi,
Am planning to take my GMAT in 2012. i already have my MBA from a 2 tier college and am looking for a second MBA say from ISB or IIM etc. since i needto be in the indian market (personal reasons)
I did my MBA 6 years ago and since then have worked in insurance and BPO. Am not happy with the shape my career is taken and the opprtunities seem to get restricted to what I have been doing ratherr than what I want to do. I feel doing a second MBA can help me break the mould and plan and direct my career. Rather than just going with the flow.

I would also like to add that I am a victim of some bad career choices. which seem to have limited my opportunities. An MBA I feel will help me get out of this rut. Any thoughts are most welcome :|

Well, without detailed background information it's really hard to give a solid comment or recommendation but here are my initial thoughts..

ISB & IIMs offer 1 year MBA programs that are definitely very good. Both the brands are trying to up their international students % to showcase themselves as being truly global. Hence, if you are an international i.e. not an Indian wanting to return to India, you will definitely have a big advantage. If not, your MBA will still give you an edge if you can use it in your favor. Rather than explicitly expressing that you screwed up and want to work in India for personal reasons, if you can convince the schools that you are truly interested in working in India from both professional & personal perspectives and an MBA from India will help you reconcile your current skills with your goals, you will do just fine...

As far as I know, none of these programs have any rules that prohibit applicants with prior MBA degrees from applying..However, you should check it out with each school to be very very sure..

Finally, I would also suggest that you keep a tab on the admission schedules for both. IIMs typically have only 1 deadline for their 1 year program which can vary from mid-Aug to end-Sep depending on which IIM you are applying to. ISB on the other hand always has two deadlines, the first one being either end-Aug or mid-Sep and the second one being end-Nov. You might want to schedule your GMAT accordingly so that you get sufficient time for your apps.

Again, with the limited info I have from your post, take the above info with a pinch of salt since I don't know what part of it will exactly apply in your case..

All the best!
