Hi All,
Few questions regarding word limit and spacing on essays;
1. Is it ok to exceed the word limit specified by the essays? If so, by how much.
2. In my essay question it says - double-spaced
What does this mean - does it mean line spacing should be double?

Highlight your essay and push "ctrl+2" and it should double space everything. But yes, single space would have no space between lines, but double space does. Read here for more info on the topic: https://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word- ... 16523.aspx
It is generally NOT ok to go over the word limits, but if you do go over, you should never go over by more than 5 - 10%. For instance, if there is a 700 word limit, NEVER go over 770 words, and really try to keep it within 735 words. If you go over this, it will be looked upon negatively.
If there is a page limit (aka 1 page maximum) make sure to stay within this guideline. DO NOT go onto the 2nd page.

I'm not sure where I read this, but generally you try not to go over the word limits. 5% over the limit or a total of 10 words is the maximum leeway, I think.
