Success Odds at Remaining Round 3 Schools
An interesting article from MBAdataguru.com has made an effort to quantify the odds of a candidate gaining admission to top business schools in Round 3. To do this, it has churned the self-reported data found at GMAT Club. MBAdataguru.com makes it clear that the data sample could be biased because “people on GMAT Club tend to have higher GMAT scores than the general application pool,” and that “the acceptance rates are meant to give you an idea of the relationship between rounds, not the absolute acceptance rate.” Yet, nonetheless, these are interesting numbers that do correlate somewhat with what we have seen at MBAAdmit.com as competiveness at these schools in Round 3 (on the whole, however, we have not found admission to Yale and UCLA in Round 3 to be as difficult as these numbers imply).
Here are the Round 3 acceptance rates that MBAdataguru.com presents, sorted by the proximity of the deadline:
NYU: 21% (deadline March 17 but still accepting applications)
McCombs: 28% (deadline March 24)
Kellogg: 20% (deadline April 1; percentage based on a small sample size)
Tuck: 22% (deadline April 1)
Darden: 16% (deadline April 1)
Booth: 15% (deadline April 7)
UCLA: 9% (deadline April 15)
Columbia: 20% (rolling application deadline April 15)
Yale: 9% (deadline April 23)
Cornell: 37% (rolling application deadline June 3)
