When I was undergraduate I focused more on entertainment than my studies and now I am paying for it. I graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a GPA of 2.67 in Communications. I really want to graduate school to earn my MBA but afraid my GPA is too low. I have recently applied and been accepted to MS in Computer Science program at DePaul University. I figured earning a graduate degree with a higher GPA will help my chances getting into a MBA program down the road.
I am starting to question my decision because I feel like I am wasting time and money getting a MS degree just so I can improve my GPA to help getting into MBA programs. I just wanted to know what everyone else thinks.
Note-
I graduated college a year
I work for a fortune 500 company
I recently turned 25.
Thank you
Hi pkot1199,
Your application, rather you are not just defined by your GPA. There are a lot many factors that come into play in the admission process.
The GPA from Masters will certainly help your cause, but putting in time, money and effort just for this reason does not make sense.
You can compensate your GPA to some extent by targeting a stellar GMAT score.
1. What is your GMAT score?
2. What schools are you targeting?
