Hey keep it authentic it is just easier that way and like you said your experiences are your own and actually have occurred so try and keep it pretty close to the truth. But most interviewers will not fact check unless something comes across weird and off the mark.

Hello everyone,

New poster here. I have searched for topics like this and I find they are usually pertaining to the essays rather than the interview phase. When going through an interview, is it okay to play up your experience (i.e. - tell the truth but exaggerate slightly)? Or do interviewers do any post-interview fact-checking? Even if they did, my stories are truthful, but when interviewing, you can phrase things that make them sound better.

Thanks for your help!
Jake

Interviews dont do any fact checking. You can ofcourse phrase things to make them sound better as long as you can manage cross questioning. I had that experience with Rotman where the interviewer asked me in depth and detailed question to understand what my role and responsibility exactly were. It will not look good if you exaggerate and are not able to survive the cross questioning. However MBA is about your ability to sell yourself. Tread carefully.
