Hey guys. I am in a slightly precarious situation and would appreciate any guidance anyone can offer.
I am on the verge of selling my family business and have applied to all my target B-Schools for Round 1. I am confident that I will get into one of the schools in my listing. So I have a couple of options at this point. I can either join a firm and work for the remaining 6 months or so before school starts, or I can take that time off to travel the world, learn a language etc., basically do stuff I always wanted to do but never had the time. Apart from the fact that the second option if far more appealing, I don't want to screw up my employer (To-be) by leaving in just 6 months.
My query is whether a break of 6 months be looked upon in bad light later in job interviews and also if B-Schools really care about what you do in the period between accepting the offer letter and starting classes. I mean do they require some additional documents at the time of matriculation?
It may seem too early to ask such questions, but this is a decision I have to take right now.
Really looking forward to some inputs. Thanks a lot!!!
