Hi All,
I'm from an over-represented group (Indian Males) although I'm not an engineer. Some folks have told me that it is critical to apply in R1 for Indian males.
I guess my question is - what would provide better chances of selection - Application at 80% potential in R1 vs Application at 100% potential in R2?
Current schools of interest can be seen on my profile.
As of now I'm planning MIT Sloan & Ross in R1, and Stanford, Yale, Kellogg & Booth in R2.
I could try to squeeze in Kellogg in R1.. not sure if I should attempt that?

IMO you will have equal chance in both rounds provided you submit your application when it is best.
