Hello everyone,
I need your help and feedback.
Here is my situation :
I graduated as Pharmacist in June 2014 and want to make a career change to become a management consultant (Pharmaceutical industry or other type). I worked in 3 different countries in 2 years. Passionate woman by nature, I was VP Education at a Toastmaster club in Brussels during 6 month. The University I graduated from is low ranked and even though I got good grades (GPA around 3.0 (French system : 14/20)) I was never the best student in the class.
The problem is :
- I got fired from my last job and had to return to my mother's home...
- At the last practice test I took, I got a 510...
I feel really terrible and don't see a lot of hope in my applications.
Indeed, when I look at the type of profile that succeeded in their applications to top business school, I see consultant from BCG that studied in top university or engineers from India who got a stellar GMAT 750+...
I had interviews this summer with consulting firms which all told me the same thing : return to business school (more or less).
My questions :
- Will a top business school like INSEAD, ESADE or HEC Paris accept somebody with my profil if I have a good GMAT score (700+)?
- How can I improve my chances to go to business school? I never worked for a major company like PwC or Pfizer...
I am afraid that being a pharmacist with just 2 years of professional experience will be a serious disadvantage for me.
What do you think?
I can't work as pharmacist anymore and place all of my hopes in business school.
Thanks for tips and feedback.
Best for all of you.
