Hello all,

This is my first post and I hope this is the correct medium to ask this question. I am HBS 2+2 applicant in the upcoming cycle and am debating on whether or not list my publications on my resume (I have three of them, one where I am the only author, one co-author, and one where I am third author). This would be at the expense of listing a job that I held during the summer of my sophomore year. I should also mention, if I don't list the publications on my resume they won't be on application at all as I don't have space. However, the job will be as Harvard has a separate section for job experiences.

Hi Nave12,

We hope we are not too late in responding to you :)

Yes, you must certainly mention your publications, especially because you do not have a chance to mention the same in any other part of your application. However, this must not come at the cost of eliminating another work experience. We recommend that you try formatting the information on your Resume just a bit and you will be able to include everything that is necessary :)

Hope this resolves your concern.

All the best!

You should certainly list your publications. My question however why would listing this publication come at the expense of listing out your work experience. If you are a 2+2 candidate you probably don't have that much work experience so you should realistically have room for everything. Take a look at your resume and make sure you are leveraging the real estate available on your resume
