Good afternoon from Shanghai.
I am a 36 year old Economics and Global Perspectives teacher living in Shanghai. I have been teaching for 4-years. Prior to that I received a Master's in Energy Policy, and had some work experience in the non-profit sector. Over my lifetime i've had a lot of jobs, but no real career to speak of. I have a 3.45 GPA from UG, and a 3.25 (cum laude) from my MA.
I would like to change that and apply for an MBA, but have some reservations and looking for some guidance and advice on where to begin the process. I would like to work in New England (Boston), and would like to work in utilities and energy ideally, but open to other sectors.
1: With 0 managerial experience will an MBA help me advance right away or make me too over qualified for positions in a company?
2: Does an MBA graduate earn those higher salaries or do those take into account graduates who already have business experience?
3: Am I too old for an MBA?
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong space, i'm new to this board and it seemed like the most appropriate place. Thank you for everyone's suggestions and advice.
Best,
