Hi everyone, I am hoping for some advice about who i should ask to write my second letter of recommendation.
My current supervisor is writing my first one, he has been my supervisor for 2 years, and I think will write a strong letter.
I have two options for the second letter:
Option 1: My previous supervisor at my current company. She was my boss when I worked in a different department of my current company, two years ago. She has since left my current company and works somewhere else (is that ok?). She would write a good letter of recommendation, but I was more junior when I worked with her, so my impact was not as extensive.
Option 2: 6 months ago, I joined the board of a Non-profit. I can have the director of the non-profit write a recommendation. He is NOT the board chair, so technically, he reports to the board. His recommendation would be strong because I have done a lot since I joined the board... but is it not impressive that the reco comes from him?

libiem2 Ive had great success with candidates submitting letters from board members because it shows that you are multi-faceted and well-rounded, a contributor, what admissions committees are looking for.
However that said I really think you should be looking at this more so from the perspective of content than the person you're selecting.
Think about what kind of content you want to provide the admissions committee and to do that I think about what is the best and highest strength you have what makes you unique from your peers?
Which antidotes are going to best exemplify your abilities in regards to teamwork leadership problem-solving communication etcetera? You want to approach the recommender who has observed you modeling those qualities and guide them in narrating an anecdote that is compelling and help the admissions committee Know Who You Are as a leader and a person.
