Hi! I'm looking to do some additional coursework to address a low undergrad GPA, however I was wondering how many/what courses I should take and where I should take them at.
As a brief background, my undergrad degree is in accounting and finance, I've a B+ average for the core/introductory courses (e.g. introductory statistics, financial accounting, corporate finance, etc.) and my low GPA (2.8) is due to poor grades in the intermediate/advanced accounting and finance modules. Post-graduation, I worked in accounting/finance, and I've gotten a CPA and passed the CFA Level I exam.
1) Will work experience of a quantitative/analytical nature, together with a CPA and CFA Level I, suffice in addressing the low GPA, or is it advisable to do some additional coursework as well?
2) If I'd like to take some additional courses to improve my candidacy, is it preferable to (i) retake one of the introductory courses and try to score an A in it, (ii) retake an advanced accounting/finance course where I had a poor grade in, or (iii) do the HBX CORe program?
3) Regarding where I can take the additional courses (apart from the HBX CORe), will UCLA or UC Berkeley Extension be the best place to do so (in terms of academic rigor, reputability, grading system, etc.), or what are the other options available?
Will greatly appreciate any thoughts/advice on the above. Thanks!
