Why not head for PhD straight out? PhD is much much cheaper and I am not sure how getting an MBA helps you with PhD - that could just be me not being fully aware of the benefits, so feel free to explain - I would love to understand better.

Thanks,
BB.

To be honest, I'm at a point where I am not set on my career plans. I know everyone has a goal for going into an MBA, but for me, the least would be to career switch. I still am not 100% set on obtaining a phD because I want to discover if I truly have passion for research and tenacity to obtain it. I think I can get a better picture by placing myself inside business school academics and getting to know professors. (let me know if my assumption here is flawed).

So I do want an MBA to transition into tech or consulting in B2C industries. If I decide not to pursue a phD, great, I career switched into fields that interests me. If I decide to pursue a phD, I would be planning to work at least 4-5 years before going back to school (apply before I am 35).

This is my pre-mature thought process thus far.

Now that I wrote it out above, I think I answered my own question. Because I'm not 100% set on academia, I shouldn't lean on it for admission essays.
