Minor point: we actually disagree with the previous post. Your work experience comes first, then your education/volunteer section.
The EC section in the application is an opportunity for you to document your time commitment, major responsibilities and accomplishments, and positions held among other things. In some cases you may be limited to a fixed number of your most important ones.
In your resume, you should cite some of those activities where they fit. For example, those activities may fit under your Education section if you participated while in school. You may need a separate volunteer section if you were very involved in that sphere of contribution. You can also have a personal section that includes extracurricular involvement. It really does depend on how you set up your resume as everyone composition of achievements are different!
