A brief background: I am an Indian male, non-engineer. My GMAT score is 730. I work in the field of accounting, finance and law. I have 4 years of work experience including working with EY as a consultant. Currently I am running my own accounting firm.
Target: My primary target school is NYU Stern.
Questions:
- Is getting into Stern really that competitive for the Indian pool?
- Will it be nearly impossible to target Stern with a scholarship if I apply on my own without a consultant ? - I have already prepared my application and written my essay. But reading about all the successful admits who got in with a scholarship I could see that almost all of them have worked with a consultant. This is making me nervous that I might be missing something.
- Will I stand at a disadvantage in terms of GMAT score of 730, since the Indian applicant pool is really competitive ?
Considerations:
- The reason for my post is that I find consultant services really exorbitantly priced for me. With a minimum of $1000 for 1 B-school, it really is a reach for me.
- To be really honest, it would be difficult for me to attend the school without a scholarship. So even if a consultant can help me get an admit, it would be futile if there is no scholarship.
- Given the above, I am looking for a consultant who can stake his success fee on the ability to help me get a scholarship. I would be willing to pay premium if they get me a scholarship admit.
- I did find
Experts Global providing such a service where they are willing to refund the fee in case you dont get a scholarship, however it is for their standard package of 11 schools. I am very clear about my target school and it makes less sense for me to get a scholarship to a school where I dont intend to go.
If there is any consultant out there which can cater to my unique situation, then please refer to me / reach out to me.
