You should be fine with an IR score of 6. To be frank, it's just not that important of a criteria for these schools have you consider the overall GMAT, GPA, work experience, essays, extracurriculars and letters of recommendation. The margin for error for admission to Harvard and Stanford is small so make sure all of these other application components are stellar.
If you are concerned about the score you could always just retake the GMAT particularly if you feel your 740 performance is replicable. If you don't do as well on the Q/V components, you can always fall back on your 740 with the IR of 6.
