Hi why don't we connect over call to evaluate your prospects. A thorough understanding of your profile and future objectives will help me evaluate better.

Best wishes

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your reply.
I am sure about ISB since I needed a minimum of 326 for my profile, I am a reapplicant and I had a similar GMAT score last year without too many changes in other factors too.

This will probably clear it: I am from IT industry. I work at a well-known international product company as a Software Engineer specifically in Computer Networks.

Could you suggest safe and average chance schools that I should look into. Also looks like I cant apply to CMU's MSPM since the last round was done in SEP'21
I definitely thought my GRE is way below par for most schools. For instance NTU, NUS's average is around 325 with higher year of average work ex too.

Hi, I am a little perplexed by your pessimism towards ISB :) . You have good acads and interesting ECs (nascent online startups, community work, theatre, Guinness record convert and so on). You have not mentioned in detail about your employer or what industry you come from, but if you write your essays well you can have a decent shot at most top B schools. Make sure to highlight your leadership skills through some stellar stories and demonstrate how you are special. Introspect on stories where you handled situations meticulously, resolved conflicts, motivated team members to deliver desired results, expedited projects, influenced senior management to take certain decisions and so on! Connect your career trajectory to your goals of working in a product management goals (your ECs will support you here too).
To maximize your chance of getting a scholarship in an international B school I advise you to apply in R1 or R2.

Hi,

I looking for suggestions on what kind of schools I should apply.
I am looking for 1 year MBA or MS in Product Management.

Excluding the expensive programs, I am open to suggestions considering the ambiguity for success in scholarships.
Exception: In US, I am considering Tepper's MS Product Management, but I am really not able to find enough info on my chances.

GRE: 320
UG: 7.48/10 [Translates to 2.99 I believe]
12th: 97.08%
10th: 9.8

Work: Software Engineer 2 in the same company for 4.5 years.. I got one promotion.
Responsibility: Test Owner, Subject Matter Expert
1. Won 13 awards, 5 hikes in 4 years, 3rd best emp in my city award(it is a world-known brand)
2. Approached to work with 2 high-profile customers even though working with customers is not my direct responsibility(I am not sure how to professionally present this point)
3. Couple of other initiatives that I can mention

EC: (Let me know how you would rate this since I feel the way I present EC and Essays are my only flexible elements in my apps. I consider these average)

1. I have 2 nascent online startups where I implemented some of the lessons I learned from product management processes at work
2. Worked(Leader responsibilities) in Education Related NGO, multiple teaching experiences
3. Trained Mental Health Listener
4. Theatre during college (all kinds of responsibilities)
5. Stage 2 convert on a Guinness World Record
6. Certifications: 3 coursera, Google Android workshop, Implant training on Digital Image Processing
7. Projects in college: one on wearble tech, one on text/sentiment analysis
8. International Paper on wearable tech

I am thinking the following:
SAFE: BITSOM
AVERAGE CHANCE: IIMA, Melbourne,
FAR REACHING: ISB, NUS, NTU, TEPPER'S MSPM(?), SCHLICH(?),
APPLIED BUT SURE REJECT: ISB

I think your chances are very good but the key will be creating a strong personal brand story that threads through all your experience (work and personal). There's a lot of different variety in your story but that coherent single central brand pillar will be the key creating a truly compelling story.

Additionally, the career path needs to be well thought out, showing how each MBA program specifically bridges from your past experience to future path by bridging the key gaps to reaching there.

A highly structured approach with a stellar starting brainstorm effort will be key! Happy to show you what I mean by that in a FREE first brainstorming session. You'll get the seeds of your personal brand story from the session.

Best of luck
