I have 2 choices for who writes my peer recommendation letter. I'd like the gmat club's members advice on who I should get.

1. I've worked with this guy for 9 months. He now works at another company. He said that he would write a strong recommendation, but I'm not so sure what he would say.

2. I've worked with this new guy at my current work for 3 months. I've been training him and working really close with him. I know for sure that he would write me a Stellar recommendaion.

Who should I pick? I would go with 2, but I haven't worked with him long enough. Would the adcomm not like this?

I don't have an answer for this but more a question. Does it matter if your recommenders are no longer working with you? I have a couple of people who I know well and they worked with me for 2+ years (one of them I worked with for 4 years).

Are they picky about this?

I'd go with whoever is going to write the better rec and is going to have more to say about you. The person that can't think of anything is going to write a **** rec. I'd be very scared of a rec where I "didnt know what they might say". I'd rather get one from someone thats only worked with me for 3 months and rocks than one from 9 months and might just be good.

Plus, he can address the 3 months thing : "Although I've only worked with him for 3 months, we interact daily, often numerous times a day on a variety of different subjects and bla bla"

No, its fine. Pick the person that can write the best about you, its fine it was a while ago. If its four jobs ago, they might wonder yes, but I took recs from my last job, and the one before that.
