I am an international applicant and could get TOEFL waiver from Stern/Duke/Yale

But Ross/UNC have been adamant with no deviation from the offical policy....I delayed TOEFL till the last minute and to my horror no Dates available during Decemeber in CT/NYC

Can take TOEFL only in Jan..Will a mail to adcom help? Any ideas

The thing about TOEFL is that you don't receive the "unofficial" scores immediately after the test (unlike the GMAT). I waited exactly 18 working days for my score.

Hence you have to see if all these numbers of days would overshoot the school's deadline. No sure if the schools have a strict deadline policy with respect to the test-scores. I believe some schools state the latest date to take these tests.

Toefl IBT - Scores not displayed instantly ? if so i am screwed royally, the only available test date is in Jan 03

I mailed ross adcom and was informed to take the TOEFL before R2 deadline ( Jan 07 ) but the report can be faxed in 7 days

IMO, most of the schools which need TOEFL scores, require you to take the test on or before the deadline (i know of Haas)...

note that they only need you to take the test and not send them the scores...the scores can be received in couple of weeks...they take as much time anyways to prepare you app...

you can check the policy for individual schools...
