I was just wondering, although i'm not applying to any MBA program until I get at least 2 years work experience, does my unique background give me an advantage when applying to top MBA programs ?
I'm from Kuwait !! I went to college in the United States, got a degree in Engineering with a decent GPA (3.65) from an OK school ( University of Kansas ). I'm getting a full time job in Kuwait, most likely in the business sector, rather than engineering. perhaps i will coordinate between an engineering division and a marketing/finance department in a firm.
I know that whenevern I apply for an MBA program , most likely, I will be the first person applying from Kuwait. I'm not an indian living in Kuwait, I'm actualy originally from there
aside from my GPA, GMAT, rec. letters, and essays. Would my background give me an advantage that could make up for only 2 years of WE ?

It's a unique aspect to your application and I'd suggest making your particular international bent clear in your applications. Is it going to get you into Harvard? Probably not. Does it help? Sure. It makes you unique.
