For some reason, this is something that often gets overlooked.
If you are an international MBA candidate, one admissions criteria will uniquely affect you.
According to a survey of MBA programs, you "must clear the added hurdle of becoming fluent in the English language."
I frequently see international MBA candidates over-index on the GMAT or GRE only to fail meeting the requirement for fluency and communication skills.
But here is what business schools are saying:
"Across all graduate management programs, English language proficiency exam results carry a minimum weight of 50 percent in relation to all other admissions factors for non- native English speakers, highlighting its importance.”
