Mark-
Get through 2 and you'll be fine. I hate to be a cocky bastard, but Level 3 was a joke. So was level 1. Parts of L2 are really easy, too, but there is just so much VOLUME on the financial statement stuff.

My advice:
Hit financial statements, derivatives, and fixed income HARD in Jan and Feb. Then focus on Equity. You want to be re-reading everything in May and spending extra time on the financial statements and derivatives.

Peace and Good Luck

Mark4124,
ha ha, have fun studying for that ****. I still have nightmares about L2 pension accounting. contrary to jd04's experience, I thought all three of those tests were brutal. My advice is to do finish all of your reading and end of the chapter questions by the end of April and then do as many practice exams as possible as you review.

Best of luck-

I went into Level 1 as a history major with no background other than my brokerage job and series 7 stuff. That made it tough. Everything is coming back from L1 big time and thus far I feel ahead of the curve on L2 reading and haven't felt that any of the material was really difficult for me. I'm quite confident that I will pass. Thats not being a cocky, I think it is "easy" as I know I have a ton of work ahead of me... I just know that I can do it.
