are notifications of acceptance usually sent by phone call with deny and waitlist through mail?

Is there a usual channel that most schools use? Just curious...

I was curious about this too as I am still waiting to hear back from all my schools. Is it usually through phone, e-mail, regular mail?

dings are either e-mail or log into the system on D-day and find out for yourself. wouldn't know about admits, though :(

Depends on the school. ND's director called me and Kelley informed through email. I know Cornell calls most admits.

I doubt phone call to be a medium especially for ointernational students in different time zones

Imagine Kellogg calling you at 2: am in the morning and saying congragulations u are admitted :)

True.... unless you happen to get an email saying

"Fedex Shipment Notification: Item Shipped"

and you think WTF? I havent ordered anything.

And then you click on the email and it says:

"Tracking: 1Ziahsdiahsidhasd
From: Ithaca, NY
Weight: 3 lbs"

Then you know too. I find it funny and sad as well that my very first admit and my first taste of success came to me through a fedex shipment notification.
