Admissions Director remembered your essays -

Question

When I visited one of the schools, the admissions director was schmoozing outside and I got a chance to talk with him.. When I began talking with him he mentioned that he remembered my essays and also mentioned congrats on been here.. its been tough and they received lot of applicants etc...... 

So is that a good sign?

This is a horrible sign. The only worse sign is getting a letter of acceptance.

Well he was smiling and they invited me for the interview.. So I am thinking maybe he liked it.. but you are right.. he migth be laughing behind hte back too..

I'm just joking, I'm pretty sure that he liked your essay if he mentioned it to you, plus the interview is a great sign.

They invited you for the interview because they wanted to meet the clown in the essays. They were probably fighting over who gets to interview you.

Did you get any wierd questions in the interview?

I question every detail, too.

There was this one resume I read when I was recruiting for interns. This one girl was the president of the fashion club, so we had to interview her.... you get the idea.

Relax. They obviously don't think you're crazy, or you wouldn't have gotten this far. It's awesome that the director remembered you. I think it must bode well, and at the very minimum, certainly won't hurt.

the last time a director remembered me I was escorted out by security. they used my head to open the door.

willget800, I know its difficult but you need to relax... at this point we tend to see more into things than there really is... I am sure it was a genuine comment with no other implicit meaning... :-)

Its always a great sign if they remember your essays. Think about it. You read a hundred of these things a day, you think they don't all start to blend and sound the same after a while? For one of them to be memorable is a big big step in the right direction.
