I am not sure if this is such a good idea but...what the heck...i can try!...

So, i sent this ~$3000 acceptance deposit to a school that i am not planning to join now....

any suggestions on how to go about asking that money back.... :?:

They're not giving it back.

They might(still doubt it) if there was an extenuating circumstance. But you can pretty much kiss it good bye. Sorry.

pretty steep acceptance deposit don't you think

Pretty steep? What do you think about the $8500 deposit that Oxford asks for?

$8500? Seriously?

Wow... I only had to pay $1000.

I wonder if theres a correlation between yield % and deposit. To me $1000 says "we want to know if you are coming, but trust you'll come here if you say you are". $8500 says "were worried you might go elsewhere and we want to lock you in."

Yep, seriously. Of course, they include that in the total tuition tab later but still $8500 and later if you end up not going. Ouch!

if that is the acceptance deposit then what is the annual tution? :)
