Just the amount to be shown for Visa processing comes to around 135K ie 5,400,000 indian rupees. Gosh, I wish my father was a billionaire[:)]

I don't get it, don't they provide financial aid (i.e.: loans without US co-signors)?

Lepium,

Tepper is one such school where the tuition is very high yet they dont provide loans without US cosignors for internationals. Its been a drawback of their financial assitance system, esp for people coming from abroad.

I guess 'luminos' can throw more light into it since he is from India and also heading to Tepper. I know for sure that Tepper does not offer need-based assistance. That makes it seriously tough for internationals to provide 130K on their own.

Dunno why they have this strange policy, almost all the top schools help in arranging loans for int studs.

Well, I guess that when dealing with minor differences in schools (such as exist in between closely ranked schools) this fact could be used to differentiate in between them. To make it simpler: I don't think a school could seriously expect to climb into the Elite cluster without offering this facility.
